Hello. This is kind of an "unconventional" question , but have other visitors asked you how get the menu bar to look like you've got it? I also have a blog and am really looking to alter around the theme, however am scared to death to mess with it for fear of the search engines punishing me. I am very new to all of this ...so i am just not positive exactly how to try to to it all yet. I'll just keep working on it one day at a time Thanks for any help you can offer here.Check out my website if you get a chance, just click on name. (I don't want to leave a link, it looks too spammy)

Thanks to everyone for the food for thought on this topic. I currently use Quicken but will be updating to a new system later in the year. I thought xero was a bit expensive to use... but with the time saved I might have to reconsider my viewpoint.

Dear All,
I also have used Quickbooks and am now using Xero and find it worlds ahead. The automatic feeds are fantastic and save SOOO much time. Rather than going into my online banking, saving files and then having to import, they are just there! I don't reconcile every morning, probably every fortnight and the way it 'learns' repeating bills/payments is far superior.

I definitely recommend Xero.

Hi Anita,
I am a Bookkeeper and like you have used MYOB as well as QuickBooks and now Xero. I work in all the above accounting programs daily and I too have come to the conclusion that Xero is far easier and quicker to input data than the other packages. The daily bank feeds are very helpful for larger businessess to keep on top of their bank reconciliations and the dashboard a helpful tool for any business person. I have also used NZA Gold and Aurora - MYOB and QuickBooks in my opinion are only just one step above these old systems and very limited.

James, I'm with you. It amazes me how everyone thinks this automatic download from the bank is so great. Doesn't anyone know how to download transactions from the bank into MYOB. And who wants to reconcile the bank everyday anyway?

James, thank you for your opinion. Of course some people will agree with my blog and others will not, especially depending what type of business they are in.
I do not sit in front of my computer all day and am on the road working with clients. I do however spend about 15 - 30 mins every morning following up on emails, checking my facebook & twitter accounts. At the same time I log into Xero and quickly reconcile any transactions that have come through.
For this, I don't need to log onto my bank and import into MYOB or print them out then load them again therefore it does save me a lot of time.

What a load of crap. If you are reconciling daily I would suggest this would take 5 mins so times that by 20 working days a month I would suggest it is the same amount of time.
